The return to school in Goderich will likely see a more subdued atmosphere than in past years.
The town is still cleaning up from a devastating tornado last month, that left one person dead, dozens more injured and much of the downtown in ruins.
The Avon Maitland District School Board is rallying behind the community.
It’s launched a donation drive as it collects non-perishable food items, new children’s clothing, new bedding and towels, school supplies and grocery store gift cards.
Donations can be dropped off at any school within that school board and the items will be taken to relief agencies in Goderich.
The campaign will run for the first two weeks of school.
You can find out more by calling one of the schools or call 1-800-592-5437.
