Royal wedding fever spreads to smartphone applications

LONDON, Eng. – Royal wedding fever has spread all across the world, and smartphones are no exception.

A flood of royal wedding smartphone applications have hit the market, covering every last detail of the high-profile wedding between Prince William and Kate Middleton in a high-tech format.

Most of the applications are tailored for iPhones and iPads, but similar applications have popped-up across multiple phone formats like the Android.

More than a dozen apps are already available, and include everything from a royal wedding countdown clock to a guide which allows you to brush-up on your royal etiquette.

Users can also leave marriage advice for the future King and Queen, or take a virtual tour of sites in London associated with the royal wedding.

The largest markets for downloads are in the United States and the United Kingdom, but people are downloading the applications from as far away as the Philippines.

Other interesting applications include the ability to set your alarm to royal-themed music, receive daily facts about the couple or read-up on the history of their romance.

An official royal wedding Twitter page exists, and an account has been set up on Flickr to share photos of the royal couple.
