Jeeps amongst targeted vehicles in recent Guelph thefts

The Guelph Police Service says there have been three attempted thefts involving Jeeps across the past week. One attempt was unsuccessful, however the other two Jeeps were reported stolen too police.

On Thursday, shortly before 6 a.m., a resident in the Elmira Rd S and Rochelle Dr area reported that her 2026 white Wrangler was stolen.

That same morning, not long after 10 a.m., Police received reports of a stolen 2024 black Jeep Wrangler. The owner, a resident in the Arkell Rd and Colonial Dr area, discovered the vehicle missing from her driveway after being stolen overnight.

Later Thursday, officials say a 2025 white Jeep Gladiator had been damaged overnight from a believed attempted theft. The vehicle in the MacAlister Blvd and Ambrous Cres area had damage to wiring inside the door, and the steering column, police added.

A report released in 2024 by Équité Association found that Jeep Wranglers are the 4th most stolen vehicle in Ontario.
