Canada Day Clash sees Panthers host rival Guelph Royals

It’s only fitting that the Canadian Baseball League’s Canada Day slate would see two of its best rival teams face off in afternoon action.
The Kitchener Panthers play the Guelph Royals for their second time in six days, as they welcome the CBL’s hottest team for a home contest at Jack Couch Park.
The Panthers enter Wednesday with a 7-14 record, having lost eight of their last 10 games. Their most recent contest against Guelph came last Thursday, also in Kitchener, with the Royals picking up a 6-3 victory.
The Royals, on the other hand, enter the game as hot as the projected weather on gameday, having won nine of their last 10 and actively playing on a four-game winning streak.
Aside from the matchup on the field, the game will feature a variety of Canada-themed festivities that begin even prior to the first pitch at 2:05 p.m. A variety of family-friendly activities will be available to help distract from the summer heat. And in a very fitting giveaway, the first 500 fans in attendance will receive a free Hawaiian shirt giveaway.
Later in the week, the Panthers will host the first half of a home-and-home series with the Brantford Red Sox, with first pitch from Jack Couch Park on July 3 at 7:05 p.m.
