Charges expected after cyclist struck in Kitchener

Regional police expect to lay charges after an evening crash in Kitchener that saw a cyclist sent to hospital.
It was just before 8 p.m. on Sunday when emergency crews responded to that crash in the area of Victoria Street North and Bruce Street.
Details are limited, though police said the vehicle that struck the cyclist was a Honda, driven by a 66-year-old woman from Wellington County.
The cyclist, a 56-year-old Kitchener woman, was taken to hospital with unspecified injuries.
The crash also led to a closure for several hours in the area of Victoria and Bruce, which has since been lifted.
While the investigation is still ongoing, police have indicated that charges are anticipated.
