Driver charged after Waterloo collision with two cyclists

A driver from Waterloo has been charged for a mid-afternoon collision that police say involved two cyclists.
Officers from the Waterloo Regional Police Service were called to the scene just before 4:00 p.m. Monday, at Steeplechase Way at Woolwich Street.
Police said the collision involved two cyclists and a Hyundai vehicle.
A 59-year-old woman on one bike suffered serious injuries and was sent to an out-of-region hospital.
A 61-year-old man on the other bike was not hurt. Neither was the driver.
Police said the driver, a 33-year-old woman from Waterloo, was charged with careless driving causing bodily harm.
The intersection was closed during the police investigation and reopened Monday night.
