A jewellery store in Stone Road Mall in Guelph was the scene of another smash-and-grab robbery.
Guelph police said it happened just before 4 on Tuesday afternoon, with four male suspects coming in, with some of them wielding hammers.
Police said they smashed display cases and stole an undisclosed amount of jewellery.
They fled the scene in what police describe as a “lowered four-door Honda Civic” with a fifth suspect waiting in that car.
No one in the store reported any physical injuries.
Police issued these suspect descriptions:
- Male, black, slim build, tall, wearing a black hooded sweater, black pants, black boots, wearing a light-coloured medical mask, light coloured gloves, carrying a red grocery bag.
- Male, black, medium build, tall, wearing a black long-sleeved top, black pants, white sneakers, black ski mask, lime green gloves, carrying a small rubber sledge-style hammer.
- Male, black, slim build, average height, wearing a black hooded puffer jacket, black pants, black sneakers with grey accents, possibly Nikes, light coloured gloves, carrying a construction style hammer with a green grocery bag.
- Male, unknown race, medium build, tall, wearing a black hooded sweater, black Nike trackpants, black sneakers, black ski mask, yellow and black garden style gloves, carrying a red Metro grocery bag.
- No physical description; remained in vehicle.
As for that getaway vehicle, police called it a white four-door Honda Civic, possibly a 2018 model, with five-spoke rims, sunroof, low to the ground, and two-tone (black and white) side mirrors.
Police said the license plate is DFEX781, but that plate turned out to be registered to a different vehicle.
