Blowing snow expected Friday, advisory issued

By CityNews Kitchener Staff

Waterloo Region largely had a break from active weather the past week but that’s coming to an end as an advisory has been issued for blowing snow.

The yellow advisory from Environment Canada says snow will develop Friday afternoon, followed by strong northwesterly winds gusting up to 80 km/h.

There’s the potential for 4 to 8 cm of snowfall by Friday night.

Very cold wind chills are also anticipated into Saturday morning.

The conditions will significantly reduce visibility at times and travel will likely be hazardous.
