WRPS investigating targeted assault in Cambridge

A Cambridge man is recovering in hospital after what Waterloo Regional Police say was a targeted assault.

Police say the victim was attacked by two masked men while in a vehicle in the area of Hespeler Rd. and Pinebush Rd. around 10:30 p.m. Wednesday.

The victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries from an edged weapon. He was transported to an out-of-town hosptial for treatment.

The two suspects are described as white men wearing face coverings.

Investigators believe this was a targeted attack and the investigation is ongoing.
