Sub Zero Hero and Ka-plow: Name-a-plow contest back in Kitchener

Another round of the name-a-plow contest is back in Kitchener, and the city has released the 12 top names submitted by thousands of residents.

The shortlist was gathered from suggestions in 2023 and 2024, with the hope of naming seven new plows by the spring.

New decals and the official names will be released during Public Works Week in May.

The vote closes on Feb. 6.

The options include:

Lederplowsen
Snowtis and Snowphelia
Sub Zero Hero
The Lean Mean Plowin’ Machine
The Snowbliterator
Blade Runner
Hippoplowtamus
Ka-plow
Lord of the Wing
Plowy McPlowface
Road Runner
The Abominable Snowman

The contest has named snow plows in the city for two winter seasons.
