Kitchener senior arrested for possessing illicit materials

The Waterloo Region Police Service (WRPS) Cybercrime Internet Child Exploitation Unit laid charges against an elderly Kitchener man.

The investigation began in September with a tip from the National Child Exploitation Coordination Centre.

Police arrested the 82-year-old Kitchener resident on Tuesday, charging him with two counts of possession of child sexual abuse and exploitation material.

The man is being held pending a bail hearing. Police say the investigation is ongoing.
