Titans complete perfect weekend, 2-0 to begin season

By Justin Koehler

The K-W Titans kicked off the season in the best way they could, winning both games against the Windsor Express.

The team began the weekend at home, debuting their new rebrand and putting on a real show for fans at the Kitchener Aud, storming ahead to a 127-85 victory.

The team was led by point guard James Towns, who picked up his first double-double of the year, collecting 4 rebounds, 10 assists, and 10 points on the night.

The team then made their way to Windsor for a rematch against the Express in enemy territory.

Sunday’s game was closer between the two squads, with the Express able to force the match into overtime. For the Titans, they met the challenge head-on, completing the two-game sweep against the Express 108-101.

There were plenty of key players in that battle, but one of the brightest came off the bench was Tyshon Pickett going 8 for 11, scoring 16 points by the end of the game.

The team now gets a day off, all before returning to the Kitchener Aud for the Titans’ Retro Night Tuesday.

Tip-off is set for 7:00 p.m. and tickets can be found on the K-W Titans website.
