Planning ahead is key for a successful holiday dining experience

Whether you’re looking to celebrate the season with a group or that one special person, finding that perfect place might not be as hard as you think.

It’s a busy time of year for restaurants but don’t let the fear of not getting a reservation stop you from trying.

Megan Stover, Vice President, Charcoal Group of Restaurants says when in doubt, give them a shout.

“No matter the size of your group, if you are more flexible on where you sit or what time you come, that really opens up a lot more options for the business to accommodate during the busy time of year.”

Stover said calling ahead is always the best way to go. Giving the restaurant a heads-up would allow them to better prepare, particularly for large groups. And, if you don’t feel like calling, reservations can always be made online. But, she said they will always welcome walk-ins.

Should you simply find yourself strapped for time or just feel like spending the night in and not cooking, Stover recommends ordering take-out, either over the phone or their web portal.

“We package our take-out really thoughtfully so it travels well and you can get as similar a restaurant experience, just at home.”

Lastly, Stover says it’s important to check the establishments hours of operations. While most are usually fairly predictable, there are likely adjusted hours on Christmas Eve and Boxing Day. Christmas Day, the restaurants are closed.
