Three vehicle crash on Line 86 puts driver in hospital

A man was sent to hospital after a three-vehicle crash in Wellesley Township involving a transport truck and two pick-ups.

Officers from Waterloo Regional Police Service were called out to the intersection of Line 86 and Powell Road, around 5:00 p.m., Tuesday.

Police said a 40-year-old man from Northumberland County, who was driving one of the pick-up trucks, was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the other pick-up truck was not hurt.

Neither was the 41-year-old man from Brampton driving the transport truck.

Police have not said yet how the collision happened, or if charges might be laid.

It was not until 9:00 p.m. that police announced Line 86 had reopened after their investigation.

For now they are still looking into how the collision happened, and asking for witnesses to come forward.
