What’s happening in Waterloo Region this weekend

The holiday season is in full swing across Waterloo Region.

Various activities are taking place this weekend include several holiday markets and Santa Claus Parades in townships in and around the region.

Here’s what you can get up to this weekend in Waterloo Region:

Christkindl Market

It’s an annual German Christmas tradition in Kitchener. The Christkindl Market runs from Dec. 4 to Dec. 7 and will include 90 vendors and crafters, live music, the KidsKindl zone and a food market.

Address: Kitchener City Hall, 200 King St. W.

Dates and hours: Saturday, Dec. 6: 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday, Dec. 7: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Cambridge Holiday Market

Cambridge City Hall will be packed with over 60 vendors, makers and crafters this weekend for the annual Cambridge Holiday Market. The event will include live music and a food truck. Admission is free and free parking is available in Downtown Cambridge.

Date and hours: Saturday Dec. 6, 2025: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.  and Sunday Dec. 7, 2025: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. 

Elmira Kiwanis Santa Claus Parade

Date: Saturday, Dec. 6, 2025

Time: Parade starts at 10 a.m.

Parade Route: The parade will travel down Arthur Street from William Street to First Street.

45th Annual Hespeler Santa Claus Parade

Date: Saturday, Dec. 6, 2025

Time: Parade starts at 12 p.m. (noon)

Parade Route: The parade will travel from Groh Avenue to the corner of Guelph Avenue and Sheffield Street.

The Cambridge Food Bank will also be collecting non-perishable food items and cash donations.

Baden Santa Claus Parade

Date: Saturday, Dec. 6, 2025

Time: 1 p.m.

Parade Route: The parade starts at the corner of Sandhills Road and Snyder’s Road, travelling down Snyder’s Road to Foundry Street.

Food and cash donations will be collected for the Wilmot Family Resource Centre during the parade.

Fergus Santa Claus Parade

Date: Saturday, Dec. 6, 2025

Time: Parade starts at 1:30 p.m.

Parade Route: The parade starts at the A.O. Smith Parking Garage travelling down Hill Street West, Maple Street, St. Andrew Street West, and St. David Street North.

The theme for this year’s parade is “A Fairytale Christmas”. Volunteers from the Centre Wellington Food Bank will be along the parade route collecting cash and food donations for the Christmas Food Drive.

New Hamburg Santa Claus Parade

Date: Sunday, Dec. 7, 2025

Time: Parade starts 6 p.m.

Parade Route: The parade will start at Norm Hill Park and travel down Peel Street to the corner of Union Street.
