Waterloo shooting suspect arrested by Winnipeg police

A man wanted in connection with a shooting in Waterloo from May of last year has been arrested.

Jalen Belle-McCormack from Toronto was nowhere near Waterloo when he was found by Winnipeg Police Service last Friday.

On May 18 last year, Waterloo regional police responded to a shooting inside a business in the popular King Street North and University Avenue West area around 11 p.m.

No one was hurt.

The 20-year-old Belle-McCormack was soon wanted in connection with the shooting as well as numerous other offences.

He has since been brought back to Waterloo Region for a bail hearing.

Anyone with information on the shooting is still being asked to contact WRPS.
