10-year-old dies of injuries following serious crash in Wellesley Township

A 10-year-old boy involved in a serious collision in Wellesley Township earlier this month has died of his injuries.

Waterloo regional police confirmed the boy passed away on Oct. 5, following the collision two days prior.

At the time, emergency crews responded to the scene on Ament Line near Lavery Road around 3:50 p.m., where a Dodge van and a Chrysler sedan had collided.

The 62-year-old Woolwich male driving the van was transported to an out-of-region hospital with serious injuries.

The driver of the sedan, a 79-year-old Perth County woman, was also transported to an out-of-region hospital with serious injuries.

Three children, ages 10, 12 and 14, were also riding in the sedan. Each was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Police are continuing to investigate the cause of the collision.
