Two people killed in collision in North Perth

A serious collision in North Perth just north of Waterloo Region has taken the lives of two people.

On Saturday around 8:30 p.m., OPP say emergency services responded to a two vehicle collision on Perth Line 86.

When officers arrived, they found both a car and a truck to be heavily damaged.

The driver of the car was pronounced dead at the scene. The passenger was taken to local hospital where they later succumbed to their injuries.

The two deceased were identified as a 72-year-old and 75-year-old from North Perth.

The driver of the truck, a 17-year-old, was airlifted to a London hospital with serious injuries.

Perth Line 86 was closed for several hours, but has since re-opened.

The investigation is ongoing.
