Bone-chilling haunts coming back to Bingemans as Screampark returns

By Erin Anderson

It’s the most terrifying time of year at Bingemans as Screampark is getting ready to return for its 19th edition.

Bingemans’ General Manager Michelle Playfair says it takes a lot of hard work and preparation to pull it all off.

“While our waterpark is open and all those fun summer things are happening, there’s a crew behind the scenes that is working on and creating and building our Screampark attraction,” Playfair said.

Screampark offers five full-scale bone-chilling haunts and a midway Blood Bar where you can take a moment to catch your breath and grab refreshments.

Playfair said even if you’ve visited Screampark before, you can expect some surprises this year.

“I’m not gonna give anything away but I will say there’s some pretty cool new immersion enhancements and new scares. Different things lurking around different corners that they may not have seen before.”

She said they have about 70 staff ready to scare you and a lot of their actors return season after season.

“They have a great job, right? To hang out in Screampark and scare the living daylights out of people, it’s a fun job to have.”

Opening night for Screampark is Friday, Sept. 26 and it runs right until Halloween.
