Fall-like temperatures expected for last week of August

As the summer comes to a close in Waterloo Region, you will be getting a small taste of what is to come for the fall.

Temperatures are expected to be a lot cooler this week compared to the usual summer heat over the last few months. Allister Aalders, 570 Weather Specialist, said people can expect lower daytime highs this week and it’s going to feel more like the fall.

“Our daytime high average is usually around 24 C at this time of year, we’ll only reach 19 C, today, 18 on Tuesday and we’re back to near 20 C on Wednesday and Thursday and then 18 C on Friday,” said Aalders.

It will also affect the overnight temperatures as well, feeling like 10 C on Monday night and 8 C on Tuesday night.

Allister notes there is also a hit or miss chance of showers for Monday and Tuesday, and there will be a fair amount of sunshine for this final week of summer.
