Regional police asking for help identifying theft suspect

Waterloo Regional Police have shared the image of a man believed to have stolen a backpack in Kitchener’s Victoria Park.
Police said the female victim was sitting in the park just before noon on July 11. She told police an unknown man stole her backpack which contained her wallet with her ID and credit cards.
The image shared by police was taken from a convenience store where the victim’s credit cards were used to make a purchase after the theft.
If anyone recognizes the suspect, they are asked to contact the Waterloo Regional Police Service at 519-570-9777.
If they wish to remain anonymous, information can be provided to Crime Stoppers, either online or by calling 1-800-222-8477.
