Driver found sleeping behind the wheel in Guelph

Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) said they charged a driver with impaired, dangerous and careless driving after they were reported to be sleeping behind the wheel.

Police posted about the incident on social media.

Other drivers had flagged down officers in Guelph to alert them a person was sleeping in their car, in a live lane of traffic.

It’s not clear which roadway the driver was stopped on, but the post mentions it was in Guelph, around 6:30 p.m. Saturday evening.

A 52-year-old from Burlington is now facing several charges, including having open alcohol in the vehicle.
