Busing information and updates will no longer be posted on the social media platform X.
Student Transportation Services of Waterloo Region said it is leaving the platform and will instead keep all its social media communication on Instagram and Facebook.
This follows a similar move made by both the Waterloo Region District School Board (WRDSB) and Waterloo Catholic District School Board (WCDSB).
Back in April, WRDSB officials said the school board was leaving the social media platform for several reasons, including student safety.
The Catholic school board said its account will stay active until September 1, but no new posts will be made as of March.
Busing information and school closures are also posted on the 570 NewsRadio Extreme Weather Centre Page.
