Cambridge motorcyclist charged for ‘unsafe move’ in front of OPP cruiser

A Cambridge motorcyclist has found out the hard way that people should not drive into oncoming traffic — especially when a police car is right there.

Wellington OPP officers pulled a bike over, soon after 10:30, Sunday morning, on Highway 6 in Wellington North Township.

Police say the driver was spotted “performing an unsafe move.”

OPP Constable Matthew Burton told 570 NewsRadio the driver was travelling in the oncoming lane of traffic, right in front of a marked OPP cruiser.

The 38-year-old driving the motorcycle was charged with two counts of driving while under suspension, plus other charges, including unsafe move, and charges related to unauthorized plates, and no insurance.

Police said the man’s motorcycle was impounded for 45 days.
