Clerk assaulted during robbery at Cambridge business

Police are now on the hunt for two suspects following a robbery at a Cambridge business, during which a store clerk was assaulted during a confrontation.

It was around 2:15 a.m. on Wednesday when police responded to that reported robbery at a business in the Hespeler Road and Dunbar Road area of Cambridge.

It’s alleged that two suspects were involved in the robbery, identified only as a male and a female.

Police say the female suspect entered the store and distracted the store employee, while the male suspect grabbed items and made an attempt to leave without paying for them.

When that store clerk confronted the duo, police say the male suspect struck the clerk and threw merchandise at them.

That clerk is said to have sustained minor physical injuries as a result of the interaction.

The two suspects fled the business on foot before police arrived on scene.

The investigation is still ongoing – anyone with information is asked to contact police at 519-570-9777.
