Cambridge man charged for slapping a stranger in Guelph

A Cambridge man is in trouble in Guelph for slapping a complete stranger in the face.

Police in the Royal City said it happened back on April 25, on Arrow Road, around Woodlawn Road West and Silvercreek Parkway North.

Police said a victim was sitting in his car near a loading zone when he saw another man walking up to him.

The victim apparently rolled down his window, thinking he was going to be asked a question.

But police said the walking man instead slapped him across his face.

Police said the two men do not know each other.

Investigators discovered the suspect’s identity, and tried to reach him on the phone, but in the end he turned himself in to police on Monday.

A 40-year-old from Cambridge was charged with assault.
