City of Kitchener gathering community input on future of Victoria Park

You can help shape the future of Victoria Park.

The City of Kitchener is looking ahead to the next decade as it works to update the Victoria Park Master Plan.

“As part of the Master Plan update, we will be reassessing current park conditions, how the space is used and the community’s future needs, which will all inform a data-driven roadmap for improving, maintaining and operating the park,” read a statement from the city.

Sensors have already been installed to gather information on how the downtown park and amenities are used, and they’ll stay in place through September.

Now it’s onto Phase 2, which is public consultations.

The first in-person ‘Conversations in the Park’ session was held May 23. A second is scheduled for July 18 from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Victoria Park Pavilion.

City staff want to know what people like about the park and what changes parkgoers want to see. Residents can also share feedback online.
