Vehicle stolen from Waterloo Region found over 400 km away

A teenager from outside the region was stopped after an Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer scanned the vehicle’s plate.

It happened on Wednesday morning on Highway 417 near Rochester Street in Ottawa. The cruiser’s Automatic Licence Plate Recognition (ALPR) software scanned the vehicle and it came up as stolen, from Waterloo Region. The vehicle was stolen two days ago, police said.

He are set to appear in an Ottawa courtroom at a later date.
