A wanted Cambridge man was found and arrested on Monday, and regional police located drugs and weapons in his vehicle.
According to the Waterloo Regional Police Service, an officer on a proactive patrol in the area of Dundas Street North and Beverly Street located the man in a parked vehicle just after midnight on Monday.
Officers arrested the 43-year-old from Cambridge, who was wanted in connection with a collision investigation from April 22, in which police say the man rear-ended another vehicle on Beverly.
In that incident, it’s alleged that the man uttered threats while on the phone with 911, drove his vehicle into the other involved vehicle, which had been parked in a nearby lot, and continued to utter threats.
That man then left the area without attempting to provide any information to the other involved driver, prompting police to request a warrant for his arrest. Charges from that incident include dangerous operation, fail to stop after accident, assault with a weapon and uttering threats.
Once arrested on Monday, police found a machete, a flick knife, cash, suspected fentanyl, cocaine, and hydromorphone in his vehicle.
He was additionally charged with three counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking, weapons-related offenses, and held for a bail hearing.
