Cambridge warming centre closes its doors

A warming centre specifically for men located just outside of Cambridge City Hall has now closed it’s doors.

The Region confirmed to 570 News Radio that the warming centre at Wesley United Church at 6 Cambridge St., closed at the end of April now that winter is over.

In a statement, the region said they partnered with porchlight to open the centre to provided support for many community members in need during the winter.

“The work to open this space was a great example of effective partnerships and collaboration amongst many community partners to identify and fill a need in our community,” read the statement. “We want to thank Porchlight and all partners for their ongoing work supporting those experiencing homelessness.”
