WRPS investigate serious collision involving pedestrian

Waterloo Regional Police Service (WRPS) is asking for assistance from any member from any member of the public who may have witnessed a serious collision in Waterloo involving a pick-up truck and a pedestrian.
Officers said the incident took place Saturday morning at around 6:10 a.m. after emergency services were called to the area of University Avenue East and Weber Street North following a collision between a Toyota pick-up truck and a pedestrian.
The driver of the truck, a 53-year-old man from Waterloo, was not injured. The pedestrian, a 32-year-old woman also from Waterloo, suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
Police closed off a portion of Weber Street North for multiple hours as it launched the initial investigation and engaged in cleanup efforts. It has since reopened.
WRPS is continuing to investigate the incident and is now asking anyone who witnessed the crash or has dashcam footage to reach out.
