By CityNews Kitchener Staff

Charges have been laid stemming from a fatal crash in Wilmot last fall.

On the night of October 24, emergency services responded to a collision involving two SUVs in the Bleams Road and Nafziger Road area.

Both drivers, a 55-year-old Exeter man and 60-year-old Zurich man, were taken to out-of-region hospitals for treatment.

A passenger in one of the SUVs, a 61-year-old woman from Zurich, was pronounced dead at the scene.

This week, Waterloo regional police laid charges against the Exeter man. The alleged offences include careless driving causing death and failing to stop at a stop sign.

Police note their investigation into the fatal collision remains ongoing.
