Cambridge hydro workers have been lending a hand in parts of Ontario that were hit hard by the weekend ice storm.
GrandBridge Energy sent two crews to the Alliston area, where power restorations efforts are ongoing.
Nine of the GrandBridge employees were deployed Monday night to help Hydro One deal with extensive damage.
Eight powerline technicians and one field operations manager were dispatched north of Shelbourne, where they’re working to repair overhead powerlines on Highway 124.
“We’re incredibly proud of our team members who have stepped up to help Hydro One restore power in the Alliston area following the recent ice storm,” Grandbridge Energy President & CEO, Sarah Hughes, said in a release. “Thousands of people remain without power during a time when weather conditions are unpredictable. I commend all utility workers from across the province who have come together to help get the lights back on in the hardest-hit communities.”
GrandBridge has also deployed equipment including bucket trucks to assist with the clean-up and restoration.
