Waterloo Regional Police say threats against an upcoming performance at Centre in the Square are not credible.

Police responded to the Kitchener venue on Wednesday to investigate concerning threats that were made online.

According to police, the threats referenced potential violence relating to a ‘Shen Yun’ performance set for March 27.

“The threat was investigated and deemed to not be credible,” reads a release from the Waterloo Regional Police Service.

Police continue to investigate where the threats originated from.

Local authorities noted that similar threats have been lodged against other ‘Shen Yun’ performances in North America. All of the targeted shows proceeded without incident.
