Waterloo regional police are asking for help to identify two males after a break-and-enter at a home in Cambridge.

The break-in was reported on the afternoon of Feb. 13 in the Blair Road and Fountain Street South area.

It started around 4:50 p.m. when an unidentified male rang a home’s doorbell several times before leaving.

Shortly after, two male suspects broke the home’s rear patio door and got inside. They stole personal property including jewellery and handbags.

Witnesses allegedly saw the same males approaching residences in the neighbourhood hours before the break-and-enter.

Anyone who can identify the individuals is asked to contact police at 519-570-9777, ext. 8255. Anonymous tips can be left with Crime Stoppers.

Police have also issued the following safety tips for homeowners:

  • Lock windows and doors, including garage doors, even when home.
  • Ensure valuables are secured in a locked location, such as a safe.
  • Consider installing a surveillance/security system, which can remotely monitor the front, rear, and inside the residence.
  • Report any suspicious activity or individuals to police immediately.
