Three Kitchener Rangers to showcase their talents in inaugural OHL top prospects game

National Hockey League scouts are flocking to the Telephone City to catch a glimpse of their next superstar.

The inaugural Connor McDavid OHL Top Prospects Game will be played in Brantford on Wednesday, featuring three Kitchener Rangers alongside the top NHL draft-eligible players in the OHL.

Blueshirts forwards Adrian Misaljevic and Luca Romano will look to put their talents on display, while defenceman Cameron Reid will toe the blueline to further boost his draft stock.

“We are honoured to host the Top Prospects Game and welcome the next generation of hockey stars to the City of Brantford,” said Brantford Mayor Kevin Davis in a press release. “This event is a fantastic chance to highlight our community’s passion for hockey and the Brantford Bulldogs, bringing fans together for an unforgettable showcase of talent.”

Top OHL talents will be split by conference, with the Western Conference team facing off against the Eastern Conference team. The Rangers will, of course, be playing for the Western Conference.

For Reid, it’s his second showcase game of the year, having competed in the CHL USA Prospects Challenge in November.

A good performance could seriously boost a players draft stock heading into the 2025 NHL Entry Draft. Reid’s draft stock is already quite high, as some projections have him being drafted as high as 10th overall.
