Watermain break closes portion of Riverbend Drive in Kitchener

A watermain break in Kitchener closed a portion of Riverbend Drive on Tuesday.

City officials said Riverbend was closed between Wellington Street North and Guelph Street.

Repairs on the 63-year-old watermain were expected to take 8-12 hours.

The pipe itself is described as an 8-inch cast iron watermain from 1962.

The latest information from the City of Kitchener indicated Riverbend Drive would remain closed in the area until 8 p.m.
