Police locate stolen vehicle with weapon and drugs inside
A 43-year-old man and a 36-year-old woman from Thunder Bay have been charged with numerous offences after a stolen 2023 Toyota Tundra was found with weapons, drugs and other suspicious items inside.
The vehicle was spotted in a hotel parking lot on Hespeler Rd. in Cambridge during a proactive patrol at approximately 9:30 a.m. on Dec. 24. Through investigation, police determined the vehicle had been stolen from Toronto in a reprogramming theft.
When police observed two individuals approach the vehicle, they were both placed under arrest.

A search of the vehicle uncovered suspected fentanyl, hydromorphone and methamphetamine. A sawed-off shotgun, three edged weapons, ammunition, multiple cellphones and reprogrammable keys were also seized.
The two accused are being charged with the following:
- Four counts of unauthorized possession of a weapon,
- Five counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking,
- Possession of prohibited or restricted firearm with ammunition,
- Occupant of motor vehicle knowing there was a firearm,
- Knowledge of unauthorized possession of a firearm,
- Carrying concealed weapon,
- Utter forged document, and
- Possession of stolen property over $5,000.
The male has also been charged with two counts of possession of device for purpose of committing theft, and possession of a firearm or weapon, contrary to prohibition order.
Both suspects are being held in custody for a bail hearing.
