Guelph man arrested after string of altercations in the Royal City

Guelph police have made an arrest in relation to multiple incidents in which store employees were threatened and assaulted.
Around 6 p.m. on Saturday officers were called to a business in the Speedvale Avenue and Stevenson Street area.
The suspect left the store without paying leading to a confrontation and eventual altercation.
After police arrived on scene, the 23-year-old Guelph man was arrested for theft under $5,000 and assault.
He was also wanted for two similar incidents last week at stores in the Stone Road area.
That resulted in additional charges including, three counts of assault and five counts of uttering threats.
He will appear in court Jan. 28.
