WRPS searching for more youths; 1 arrested after series of Kitchener crimes

Waterloo Regional Police have arrested a youth and charged them with assault with a weapon at a public school in Kitchener.
A group of youths entered a school all wearing masks on Thursday, Dec. 19, and were asked to leave by a member of faculty.
The group responded when one of them grabbed a fire extinguisher and sprayed it at the faculty member, before fleeing from the school.
They later allegedly went to a plaza in the area of Westmount Road East and Laurentian Drive, where they yelled racial slurs at people, assaulted a business owner, stole merchandise, and caused another business minor property damage.
Police have located and arrested one member of the group, and have charged them with several Criminal Code offenses and breaches.
The other members of the group are still being sought after. Anyone with information is asked to contact police or CrimeStoppers.
