Man wanted on multiple warrants arrested in armed robbery incident
Police have arrested and charged a wanted man in connection to a robbery with a firearm at a Kitchener business.
It happened Nov. 27 at about 8:30 p.m. Officers from Waterloo Regional Police were called to a store in the area of Fischer-Hallman Road and Ottawa Street South for a robbery. The male suspect went into the business picked out merchandise and attempted to leave without paying.
A staff member approached the man who pushed the employee out of the way and flashed a gun while leaving the store. He also pointed the firearm and threatened a customer who attempted to intervene.

The suspect fled the area on foot. Shortly after, members of the Central Neighbourhood Patrol and Emergency Response Team found him near Highway 8 and placed him under arrest.
The stolen items and the BB gun were found in the area. Further investigation determined that the man was wanted on multiple outstanding warrants with regional police, Peel Regional Police and Ontario Provincial Police.
The 35-year-old male facing charges of:
- Robbery with a firearm
- Point firearm
- Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
- Uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm
- Breach of a probation order
- Failure to comply with a release order
The accused was held in police custody for a bail hearing.
