Season of giving starts with local humane society holiday fundraiser
It’s called A Season of Second Chances: Hope for the Holidays Campaign.
It’s the largest fundraiser of the year for the Humane Society of Kitchener Waterloo and Stratford Perth (HSKWSP) is now underway. The funds raised and gifts received will go to helping animals recover and find forever homes, throughout the year.
HSKWSP is hoping they will be remembered when people are choosing which charities to support this holiday season. There are a number of ways to support its efforts.

First and foremost, people can open their home and their heart by adopting an animal. Humane society staff will provide all the information needed to ensure the pets find their forever home.
If a financial donation is more your speed, one-time donations can be made anytime through the humane society website. There is also the option to become a monthly donor.
For those more hands-on people, volunteers are always welcome, but also hosting a fundraising drive or pet food drive in neighbourhoods can help. You could also make a pet blanket, if so inclined.
Lastly, HSKWSP has a couple of Amazon wish-lists available with dozens of much needed items to choose from.

Because of the Canada Post strike, online donations are encouraged to ensure the gifts are able to used as quickly as possible.
