Guelph Police say someone has been going around the Royal City cutting the internet cable at more than a dozen businesses.
The most recent cases were reported just before 2:00 a.m. Friday, from Quebec and Baker Streets in the downtown. A resident who lives over a business there called officers after discovering their internet line had been cut.
That caller had spoken with the owner of the business who also said their service was disrupted.
Officers found the cables sliced in half at two neighbouring stores as well, “affecting their ability to conduct business.”
Those three businesses were hit after police say 13 businesses on Wyndham Street North suffered damage to external cables, Wednesday morning.
Guelph Police have sent out photos of a male who “has information relevant to the investigation.”
Police do not call him a suspect.
Anyone who knows that person, or knows anything about the cut cables, is urged to contact Guelph Police, or Crime Stoppers.
