Two police cruisers struck as suspected stolen vehicle flees Kitchener traffic stop

A stolen vehicle, two police cars hit in Kitchener, and a suspect driver on the loose.

Waterloo Regional Police say two of the vehicles were struck by a suspected thief fleeing the scene of a pullover, pre-dawn, Friday morning.

They say it began with the traffic stop around Spadina Road East and Highland Road East, at 4:45 a.m.

Police say the suspect refused to stop, and struck the police cars as they made their getaway.

Fearing public safety, officers did not engage in a chase through city streets.

No one was hurt in the altercation.

Officers say the stolen vehicle involved is a silver BMW M3 with Newfoundland and Labrador plates, HNK 015.

Police say it was last scene on Glen Road in Kitchener.

There’s no information from police at this time about where and when the BMW was allegedly stolen.
