Regional police find sharp objects in chocolate bars handed out in Cambridge

Parents in Cambridge are being asked by Waterloo Regional Police to check their children’s Halloween candy after two incidents of sharp objects being found in chocolate bars.

Police received a report on Thursday around 6 p.m. of someone finding a toothpick in a chocolate bar that was given out in the area of Rouse Avenue and Kovac Road.

On Friday, around 7:20 p.m., another report came in of a needle being found inside a chocolate bar, that was collected in the area of Elgin Street North and Cassidy Court.

No one was hurt in any of the incidents.

Police warn that all candy should be inspected before eating and any candy that appears to be tampered with should be thrown out immediately.
