Three Kitchener teens arrested in connection to August hate-motivated assault

Three Kitchener teens have been arrested in connection to a hate-motivated assault that happened in August.

According to Waterloo Regional Police, the incident happened on Aug. 21 around 7:30 p.m. in the area of Hazelglen Drive and Mooregate Crescent.

Police say a man was leaving a business in the area when he was approached by the youths. They yelled profanities and racial comments at him.

A fight broke out amongst the group, and the victim received minor injuries.

On Monday, police arrested a 16-year-old and 15-year-old who were charged with assault and mischief, and a third youth, also 16 years old, received a warning.
