Toronto man wanted in connection with May shooting in Waterloo

Waterloo Regional Police are now searching for a 20-year-old Toronto man in connection with a Waterloo shooting that occurred back in May.

It was on May 18 around 11 p.m. when police were called to a business in the King Street North and University Avenue West area for that incident.

It’s alleged there was a disturbance in the business while suspects were inside, resulting in shots being fired. No injuries were reported.

Around the time of that incident, police released an image of a man they were looking to identify in connection with the shooting. That man has since been identified as 20-year-old Jalen Belle-McCormack.

He is wanted on a warrant for several charges, including:

  • Careless use of a firearm
  • Carry concealed weapon
  • Utter threats
  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
  • Possession of a prohibited weapon
  • Point firearm
  • Fail to comply with a judicial order (two counts)
  • Breach probation
