Layoffs at ApplyBoard due to restructuring

There’s been layoffs in the local tech sector.

CityNews Kitchener has learned there’s been another round of restructuring at ApplyBoard.

“Today, we made the tough but necessary decisions to ensure ApplyBoard’s future success. We deeply appreciate and thank every departing team member for their contributions to ApplyBoard,” said CEO and Co-Founder, Meti Basiri, in a release. “We continue to actively invest in our technology, teams, and global expansion. ApplyBoard remains committed to its mission of making education accessible to students around the world, unlocking their potential through the power of education.”

An ApplyBoard spokesperson confirmed approximately 4 per cent of the company’s global team members, located in Ontario, are affected.

The educational technology platform was founded in 2015 and has headquarters in Kitchener.
