A Kitchener male is now facing multiple charges after an assault yesterday involving a noxious substance.

Waterloo Regional Police responded to the area of Sheldon Avenue North and King Street East after receiving reports of two victims being sprayed in the face.

Investigators say the two victims, a 18-year-old woman and 24-year-old man, were approached by the accused, who police say was known to them, when an altercation took place, resulting in minor injuries.

A 27-year-old Kitchener man has now been charged two counts of assault with a weapon and two counts of administering a noxious substance.

He was held for a bail hearing.
