Guelph police investigating after nearly $1,000 of butter stolen

Police in Guelph are investigating after hundreds of dollars worth of butter was stolen from a pair of businesses on Monday.

According to Guelph police, a man entered a business near Gordon Street and Clair Road at around 3:30 p.m. and walked out with about $500 worth of butter. The suspect is described as a brown-skinned man, about 5’6″ and was wearing a black t-shirt and shorts with a bandage on one leg at the time of the incident.

Then, at around 4:30 p.m., another theft took place at a business near Kortright Road West and Edinburgh Road South when a man left the store with a bag filled with about $300 worth of butter.

The suspect in the second theft was described as possibly East Indian, 5’8″ with a light-coloured beard and black hair, and was wearing dark clothing. He fled the scene in a Toyota Corolla.
